Announcements > LicensingLicensingBecoming a Barber in Minnesota | Forms | Re-Licensure Following Termination PLEASE NOTE: Board staff makes every effort to mail renewal notices to all licensees, however; it is the responsibility of the barber to renew their license on or before December 31 each year. If you do not receive a renewal notice you may print one from the link below and submit it with your payment.
General License Informaiton All barbers must work in a licensed barber shop. It is the barber’s responsibility to assure that the shop is licensed. Barber licenses expire December 31 annually. The Board makes an effort to send renewal notice to each barber, however; it is the barber’s responsibility to renew their licensed in a timely manner. Failure to renew on or before December 31 each year will result in a late renewal fees. Pursuant to Minnesota statutes 154.15 subd. 2: All barbers who allow their certificates of registration to laps for more than one year shall be required to reexamine before being issued a certificate of registration. All barber shop certificates expire on June 30. The Board makes every effort to send out renewal notices however it is the shop owner's responsibility to renew the certificate on or before June 30 each year.
